GW's Gov 2.0 Startup Lab:

The GW Office of Entrepreneurship & iStrategyLabs bring you a half-day event to bring together DC’s growing community of Gov 2.0 thought leaders, application developers, local and federal government employees, entrepreneurs, and students.  This event will stimulate new ideas and bring together collaborators for the 2011 GW Business Plan Competition with $50,000 in prizes, and further establish GW as a hotspot for innovation and entrepreneurship.

What is “Gov 2.0”?

A new methodology for governance and civic engagement based on transparency, open data, and citizen driven innovation -- “Gov 2.0” is gaining traction as a broad movement that has impacted both the public and private sector.  It has now become crucial to bring the student voice into this conversation both from an educational and action-oriented perspective.  Developing Gov 2.0 tools and technology is quickly becoming an integral part of the startup ecosystem, signaling significant opportunity, especially at the University level.
